What to expect

This rewarding volunteer role would suit applicants who are passionate about animals and dedicated to improving their welfare. RSPCA is currently in need of people who would like to use their valuable life skills and time to take incoming calls and perform administrative tasks in our busy call centre.  In this role you will take part in call centre training which covers the RSPCA computer and telephone systems. This training will enable you to respond to enquiries about animal adoptions and help reunite lost and found animals with their owners. You may also be trained to dispatch ambulances to injured animals, take cruelty complaints, answer general enquiries, respond to emails and perform data entry tasks.

Testimonial

“I can still remember my first day as a call centre volunteer at the RSPCA. I was very nervous to enter a new work environment and terrified that I would be put on calls on the first day! Luckily this didn’t happen, and instead I was made to feel at ease straight away. The team is incredibly friendly and willing to help you with any problems you may have. After all, as a volunteer you are a tremendous help to the team! I have also been taught a lot of useful skills, such as call control, data entry, dispatching and general administration. The call centre receives thousands of calls each week so you can be certain that your work in the call centre helps to save lives every day. I have been at the RSPCA now for over a year and I am still excited to volunteer every week and do my bit to help save animals’ lives.”
