Poorly Drawn Pets returned for 2021, bigger and better than last year, raising over $12,000 for animals in RSPCA care!

Last year in the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown, we launched a new fundraising event: Poorly Drawn Pets! We had so much fun and it was so successful that we brought it back this year, raising much needed funds for the hundreds of animals currently waiting for homes across Queensland.

This year we had Merlot, our shelter pooch helping out and getting in on the action! Merlot was an absolute legend, giving moral support and artistic advice – and he’s available for adoption right now at Wacol!

The money we raised directly supports caring for pets like Merlot. Did you know that it costs over $25 a day to care for just one pet at the RSPCA? So for each portrait, that's another day of care able to be provided to animals in need!

With almost 500 pet photos submitted, we had an army of artists ready to go. Even our CEO Darren Maier got in on the action – as well as a bunch of staff and volunteers and Ambassadors from all over the state.

Our Favourite Poorly Drawn Pets!

Every drawing was delightful and worthy of the Louvre but we thought we’d show you 16 of our very special favourites.

Thank you so much to all our volunteers who drew these wonderful portraits, and everybody who donated to have their pet drawn!
