Last Thursday RSPCA Staff and Volunteers from around Queensland came together to celebrate the successes of the past year at our annual Awards Night.

Over the course of the evening a number of teams, staff and volunteers were recognised for their outstanding achievements and commitment to the RSPCA. The President’s Award went to volunteers Kay Robbins (Wacol) and Noel Roberts (Dakabin). Both received a standing ovation in recognition of their exceptional commitment to the cause.

Kay has been an RSPCA Qld volunteer since 2008 and has worked in a variety of roles. Kay’s contribution to the charity has seen her volunteer hundreds of hours of her time and drive thousands of kilometres transferring animals between shelters, vet surgeries, council pounds and doing property checks. Recently Kay was nominated for the 2016 Volunteering Lifetime Contribution Award. Kay truly lives the RSPCA mission by helping animals and improving lives!

Noel volunteers at the Dakabin RSPCA, often managing the busy office on his own. Noel has taken responsibility for running the Dakabin RSPCA Facebook page and is always working towards promoting both the animals in our care as well as the presence of the RSPCA within the community. Noel’s exceptional customer service, patience, flexibility and love for animals have made him an integral part of our Dakabin team.

Please join us in congratulating Noel and Kay for their exceptional and ongoing commitment to all creatures great and small!
