Queenslander’s who have been dreaming of adopting their own “Toto” will soon be able to follow the yellow brick road from RSPCA Queensland back to their home with a trial rescue animal.

The talented cast of the The Wizard of Oz will be helping RSPCA Queensland launch its No Place Like Home adoption promotion, which will run from November 4 to 12, coinciding with the opening week of this much loved musical.

This initiative will allow people to pay $50 to ‘trial’ an adult RSPCA dog – or cat – for 30 days, if it's a match there's no more to pay.

RSPCA Ambassadors Andrew McCullough from the Brisbane Broncos and 973fm’s Bianca Dye will be supporting the adoption campaign.

RSPCA Queensland spokesperson Rhiannon Smith said the proceeds from ticket sales already raised from the charity screening on November 4 would go towards improving the quality of lives for RSPCA animals.

“The No Place Like Home promotion is an exciting opportunity for potential adopters to see how easily a dog or cat could fit into their home,” Ms Smith said.

“This is the first time we have run this program in Queensland and the 30-day trial period will allow adopters to ensure they are a perfect match with their chosen rescue animal."

“If they choose to adopt upon completion of the trial, they will have no more to pay."

“We are delighted to be the exclusive charity supported by The Wizard of Oz musical and appreciate the backing from its cast, fans and our ambassadors to improve animal welfare.”

The RSPCA will be attending The Wizard of Oz dress rehearsal and opening night this November to launch their No Place Like Home promotion, where the public will have the opportunity to meet RSPCA dogs looking for their fur-ever homes before the musical commences.
