Update on dumped puppies cry for help

Rescue Dogs Posted May 19, 2021
We have some exciting news for the puppies that were found dumped at a north side suburb in Brisbane.

On the evening of Wednesday August 22, eight Border Collie cross puppies were found dumped on the north side of Kev Hooper Memorial Park in Abelia Street, Inala. They were in a critical condition and RSPCA Qld Inspectors were calling for information.

The litter was found by a member of the public and taken to the AEC 24 hour vet clinic in Woolloongabba. Sadly, it was already too late for one of the 5-week-old pups which was deceased upon arrival.  They were brought into the RSPCA Domestic Animal Hospital at Wacol yesterday for urgent treatment.

Sadly only three of the eight pups remain after five more pups succumbed to their illness.

Receiving round-the-clock care at the RSPCA, the three puppies were malnourished, suffering from hypothermia, conjunctivitis and life threatening Hookworm infestations. The next 24 hours was vital to their survival.

A month on from their traumatic ordeal

These three little fighters now named Huey, Dewey and Louie are officially out of the woods.

All three pups have found their forever homes. Huey, Dewey and Louie's new pawrents came in with the intention of helping a pet in need and weren't aware of their story. These pups can now move on and focus on being puppies who are loved unconditionally.
